No Ordinary Duotone

2005 โ€“ 2024

No Ordinary Monkey was an amazing party that took place in the basement restaurant of a FiDi office building at 50 Broadway. I consistently heard songs there for the first time, or songs I knew well, but heard on a proper sound system there for the first time.

Nights were wild.

The shaddowy, rhythmic effects in the image all happened in camera, leveraging a longer shutter speed to collect the scene lit from behind with a strobe.

The image above is the very first duotone Risograph image I printed. The only thing I added to the image to achieve what's above was the duotone separation, then the printing of the Mint and Sky Blue layers in that order. Below are some of the iterations along the way.
